1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CodeThis ("the Service"), operated at codethis.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CodeThis is a paste and code sharing service. The Service allows you to create, store, and share code snippets and text documents with syntax highlighting for 100+ programming languages, markdown rendering with MDC components, adjustable expiration, and optional password protection.

3. Account Registration

You may use the Service without an account (anonymous pastes). If you register, you must provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to register for an account.

4. Free and Pro Tiers

The Service is available in two tiers:

• Free: Up to 1 MB per paste, 100 stored documents, maximum 30-day expiry
• Pro: Up to 5 MB per paste, unlimited documents, permanent ("forever") expiry, password-protected pastes, and additional features — billed at $5/month or $50/year

Tier details are subject to change. Changes to paid plans will be communicated in advance.

5. Acceptable Use

Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. You agree not to use the Service for any prohibited purposes outlined therein.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all content you post to the Service. By posting content, you grant CodeThis a limited, non-exclusive license to store and serve that content solely for providing the Service. Content you mark as public is viewable by anyone with the link. CodeThis retains ownership of the platform, codebase, and all related intellectual property.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We process your data in accordance with applicable laws and our data handling practices.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or any specific uptime. Paste expiration is best-effort — we aim to honor the chosen duration, but we do not guarantee exact timing of expiry or deletion.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeThis shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. You may delete your account at any time through account settings. Upon termination, your data will be retained for up to 30 days before deletion.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
